Black College Reunion in Daytona Beach
Black College Reunion, also known as Black Beach Week, is held each spring in sunny Daytona, Florida. The event lasts for three days, usually in early April, and consists of fun on the beach along with tons of concerts and entertainment events.
Where to Stay During Black Beach Week
The entire three-day reunion is held along the Atlantic Avenue strip. One of the main events during Black Beach Week is the gigantic car and bike show that is set up along the strip in Daytona. The customized cars and bikes have their own appeal, but the most important attraction will be the opportunity you to meet tons of new people while taking in the sights along Atlantic Avenue!
The best places to stay in Daytona Beach during Black Beach Week are the cheap hotels right along the strip. Staying along the strip guarantees you’ll be near all of the attractions and alleviates the need to drive, search for parking, and find your car after a night of partying. Most of the hotels along the strip offer special discounts to college students during the festival of fun.
How to Get to Black College Reunion
One of the greatest concerns for young college students attempting to get to Black College Reunion is transportation. Most car rental agencies require drivers to be 25 years old while others require drivers to be at least 21. Some of the agencies in Daytona Beach are willing to cater to the younger college crowd and rent vehicles to drivers who are at least 18 years of age, but you’ll end up paying extra for the privilege and insurance.
Like I said before, every single event associated with Black Beach Week will be held on the strip, so there’s no real need to rent a car or find transportation unless you plan on leaving the area. There are plenty of taxis and buses for those who find themselves a little too far from their Daytona hotels by the end of the evening and you can easily get a cab from the airport for under $50.
Regardless of where you choose to stay or how you get there, Black Beach Week in Daytona, Florida is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience. You’ll be joining over 20,000 college students at one of the spring’s hottest events. Have fun!
